Every U.S. state and the District of Columbia registers limited-liability companies and other business entities through a central office — usually the Secretary of State, sometimes a corporation commission or a division of a commerce department. This directory lists each filing authority and links to its official website, its business forms, and its business-entity search, so you can go straight to the source.
These are official state and district resources — they open on government websites. eFiling is a private filing service and is not affiliated with any of them.
What each link is
The three links in each entry go to the jurisdiction's own site — the same tools the state itself points to. Nothing here is hosted or run by us.
- Filing office The state's business-filing authority, where formation documents are submitted and where a filing becomes official.
- Forms The official document sets a business uses to register and to file what the state requires afterward.
